Are you planning to design or supply solar panel systems for commercial buildings? VENI Metering provides solutions that make it easy to implement solar panels power in commercial buildings with multiple tenants.

We facilitate solar power – whatever starting point

In buildings supplied with our meters, everything is set up to implement a solution for metering and paying for solar power. In buildings with other solutions, VENI Metering’s metering solution must need to be installed before we can establish a solar power solution.

Contact us early in the process

For buildings that already have a metering solution from VENI Metering, it is important that we are informed in advance about the planned solar panel installation. This way, we can ensure that the property owner receives the value of the solar power from the first day of production. VENI Metering’s solution requires an operational agreement with the property owner.

Ordering and placement of meters for solar power production

Solar power production must be metered with a MID-approved AMS meter provided by VENI Metering, in addition to the necessary current transformers and meter switches. We are happy to supply metering equipment to the panel builder, allowing the equipment to be installed in the panel cabinet before delivery to the building. The preferred solution is to install the meter directly behind the main meter.

Electrician? Here’s what you need to know before installing a solar panel system

You need the following information: Meter number on the utility’s main meter, total installed capacity of the solar panels, fuse size – system voltage of the building, meter placement. If the system needs to be connected behind one of our existing series meters (not ideal), we need to know which meter this is.

What kind of meters are used?

A large AMS meter for production must be used.

Where is the meter installed?

The preferred placement of the meter is directly behind the main meter (not behind a series meter). Meters for solar power should be installed by the responsible installer/electrician of the solar panel system. Installation is coordinated with VENI Metering.

What information does VENI Metering need?

We need to know the voltage, fuse size on the inverter, and the meter number on the main meter.

Mini-metering management and tenant consumption?

For mini-metering management, it is recommended to set up a separate meter for tenant consumption. This ensures they have the same access to meter readings, HAN port, etc., as other Elhub customers.
